General Questions

How does this site work?

You sign up for a free account then enroll in the class or classes of your choice (via your control panel). After a year of hard work , training and assignments, you graduate with a certifiacte of completion. You can then be eligible to teach others from this very website. As a certified trainer, you earn money for the classes you teach (based on the number of sstudents in your class).You can also continue another 2 more years to complete your training and earn a higher degree of training certification. Do I have to pay for classes? Can I remain a free member?

You can remain a free member and attend a sample class on Fridays, sell music here, interact with other musicians and artists and much more.
What classes are taught here at Gwardyak?

Classes range from Music theory to Music production. Audio engineering to film scoring.
Do I get a certificate upon completion of the school?

Yes. After 1 year of training, you recieve a certificate of completion and accomplishment(mailed to your home).
How do I upload and sell my music?
How much should I sell my beats/music for?

You can sell your beats/music for as much or little as you like..many new producers sell there beat for as little as $10 and as much as $1000. Try starting low and building a reputation then gradually raising your prices as your reputation grows more positive.
What about copyright and ownership?

As a rule of thumb, as long as you own the copyright for the material you wish to use, or you have permission from the copyright owner, you can upload or embed your material for public performance or downloading. What music, video and images can I upload or embed in my CP?

We currently support HiFi MP3 (64kbps-256kbps), Video formats are .flv and .wmv including embedded video at a maximum size of W:425xH:350, images are supported in .gif, .jpeg and .png
How do I report inappropriate content?

Video pages, galleries and blogs include a link to the admin PM system which can be used to report any offensive material. When reporting please ensure that you provide us with as much detail as possible quoting the name of the video, image or blog and including the originators name.
Can I embed or upload a video, MP3 or image which may contain offensive or expicit material?

As a general rule No! However, in the case of uploaded or embedded videos, all artists are advised to activate the "explicit content" image in the CP so that viewers are made aware of the video content. Repeated violations will lead to the termination of your artist account.

What is the pricing for subscriptions?

Subscription pricing is based on the total amount payable each month, 6 months or 1 year, for instance the 1 year pricing reflects the most discount for users wishing to pay their subscription annually. How do I pay for my subscription?

There are two places to subscribe on FLU. One is in your control panel. The other is on the "Live Classes" link.Simply click the subscription you wish to purchase and complete the Paypal transaction, your subscription will be renewed automatically and an email will be sent to notify you 7 days before your next subscription is due.
How do I cancel my subscription?

You may cancel your subscription at any time during your subscription term, however, refunds for open subscriptions are not available. For more information on cancelling your subscription please visit your Paypal account.

Digital Sales

How do I use the Digital Store?

You can use the Digital Store in your CP to sell MP3's, Videos, PDF files, Zip and many other kinds of digital files. Simply upload your files with a description and a price and they will appear in your store for sale, you will be notified by PM each time an item is purchased.
When do I get paid for my digital sales?

Each time your sales account reaches $10 this amount is transferred to your Paypal account.
What's the difference between the Physical Store and the Digital Store?

The physical store allows you to sell physical items such as CD's and merchandise and also allows you to charge for postage and packaging. The Digital Store is for sales of digital files like MP3's and offers the buyer instant download after a successful transaction.

Which facilities are currently available to Free Account Students?

Free Account Students get a very powerful free platform to upload their music,sell beats, connect with other producers, use the forums, rate and review other students and access the recorded live classes. There are many upgrade options that FREE students can take advantage of too. Just see your control panel.
What is a Playlist?

A Playlist is simply an internet radio station "radiocast" and is similar to a PodCast, you can include any artists songs in your Playlist which have been made available to share by each artist. Each member has one Playlist available in their CP, the Playlist is embedded and viewable on every members home page.
How do I embed video and images from other sites?

You can embed video and images into your blog entries by pasting the code anywhere in your blog text.
